Tony is a talented young sculptor and joined the BATANAI team in 2003. Tony favours exotic woods for carving, such as Sandalwood and Rosewood, because these woods have the texture and grain suited to his style of work.

Tony’s creations show his enjoyment of exploring faces heads of different people, their expressions and emotions.

Tony grew up in the war zone of Mozambique, and his personal story is an interesting picture of African life in troubled times. Today Tony finds peace in his art and Church where he teaches singing.
